Training
At Quaker Pointe we believe training is a daily activity. Keeping your canine occupied, with new learning activities at an early age promotes a more relaxed, well adjusted, family companion for the remainder of both of your lives. Young dogs especially between the ages of 3-13 months develop at a fast rate and the ability to expose them to all sorts of surroundings and situations during this fast growth period will enable you to have a well adjusted, relaxed adult dog. All to often though people, love to let there cute cuddly puppies do whatever they want, because its cute, only to find that when th cute cuddly puppy grows into a full sized dog they are unmanageable. You see this in rescues and shelters all over the country.
Quaker Pointe promotes a 5 day on 2 days off training program for young dogs. During school days we will introduce and work with them on bird work, water work, retrieving, field commands, as well as obedience commands. Socialization is key during this period as well and puppies will be put in a variety of situations with people of all ages. On their weekends, they go home with you to emerge themselves in their own family life. We believe this type of family orientated training will provide structure in a young dogs life as well as give your dog a step up when your dog is old enough to participate in different AKC sponsored events.
